People always ask us…
What wedding suppliers do we recommend???
The wedding industry can be a minefield and it’s hard to know who to trust with one of the most important (and expensive) days of your life. It’s pretty obvious that going with the cheapest option isn’t always the best idea, however we have also found that choosing the most expensive suppliers out there doesn’t automatically guarantee quality either! So how do you know what to look for?
We recently performed for a lovely couple who got married at Hensol Castle in Pontyclun and we had the pleasure of working with Phil Warren, who had been booked as their primary photographer. First of all, what a nice guy! As soon as we got chatting with him we noticed he was charming and professional which are 2 key qualities you need in a wedding photographer. However, as the evening unfolded and we watched him at work, we realised why his nickname is “the photographer who loves to stay late”. Phil didn’t just get that first dance shot and shoot off home as a lot of wedding photographers do. He stayed, and stayed, and stayed… and kept snapping away, capturing the real party atmosphere which, as we all know, doesn’t start until way after the first dance! And the shots speak for themselves. This is a photographer worth investing in!
Another supplier we’ve enjoyed crossing paths with is a fabulous cellist called Nerys Clarke. A lovely lady with tip-top professionalism a great sense of humour and to top it off she has recommended us and spoken highly of us to others which shows that she is secure enough in her business and talents to not feel threatened by another music act (plus she clearly has great taste).
We were recently blown away by the service we received at Bryngarw House in Bridgend. The perfect venue for a more intimate wedding; we were greeted by the manager who helped us with our gear and looked after us impeccably. The organisation of staff and coordination of timings was spot on and every member of staff went out of their way to be as helpful and friendly as possible. Plus the food was amazing!
We love being a part of the wedding industry and although many suppliers see eachother as competition, we believe choosing the elements that make up your day is a very personal thing and every supplier should be the right fit for you. If we’re not a band that suits the vibe you’re creating, that’s cool with us, we’re happy to make some recommendations for a band who might be! Any supplier who puts the booking over the customer is a major red flag, so just make sure the person you’re talking to seems to take a genuine interest in your ideas and requirements rather than your budget!
